Interview by David Herbert 14 June
After doing an interview with Brian through email, it became clear that one of his biggest priorities is to entertain people, whether inside or outside the cage. He shows his talent not just with his hands, which is why it won’t be long before he has tons of fans.

DH: You’re next fight is in Philadelphia at UFC 133. Where are you training in preparation and who’s assisting you in your training efforts?
TWAS: On a serious note, ESS Performance’s High Performance Training Centre in Melbourne, Australia, have hosted my UFC 127 & 133 training camps. I live there, literally. It’s a great facility and a great staff of trainers and physical therapists.
Kimekai Martial Arts, namely Ed Bavelock, is responsible for my striking and overall MMA training. My grappling training is hosted by Dominance BJJ, alongside two black belts — Dave Hart and undefeated MMA fighter Cameron Rowe. Another local grappler, Kit Dale (ADCC champion) will also be training with me quite a bit over the next 6 weeks. And I’m hoping to get another ADCC Champion, Carlos Viera, into camp. All of these gentlemen helped me prepare for UFC 127, in the one week of real training that I had. So I’m hoping that I’ll be able to improve greatly, being with them for an extended camp.
I must thank a few sponsors that have greatly assisted in my training efforts. Without their assistance, I would have a hard time putting together such a strong training camp. A huge thanks goes to Phil Grainger of AMCO (A Western Australian based company, working in the mining sector), as well as Robertson’s Coatings (Melbourne, Victoria) for their financial contributions. I wouldn’t be able to train in Australia, with proper training partners and facilities, if it weren’t for these companies and the CEO’s that have taken a vested interest in my success. Gentlemen, thank you very much!
UFC advertising sponsors, Hayabusa and Cage Fitness, keep me with top quality training equipment. And my manager, Justin Lawrence (xfcpromoter@gmail.com), has done a fantastic job of facilitating media opportunities and keeping me up to date with UFC news and requirements.
With support in the office, in the gym, and at home — I’m embarking on a fantastic training camp, with hopes of heading to Philadelphia, PA in great shape and in great spirits.
Also thanks to all of the folks that have graced me with their presence on Twitter and Facebook. @TwasEbersole on Twitter and simply Brian Ebersole on Facebook. I try to entertain there just as much as I do in competition. And I’m always pleasantly surprised with posts, tweets, and conversations on there. Thanks for making me laugh, making me think, and keeping me updated on the world at large….
Dave Herbert: You will be facing Dennis Hallman. What do you think of him stylistically?
TWAS: He has style, he has grace….but that won’t stop me from punching him in the face.
