UFC on FX 4: Guida vs. Maynard main card set with four bouts
The four-bout main card for the UFC’s first Atlantic City event in seven years is now set.
“UFC on FX 4: Guida vs. Maynard” takes place June 22 at New Jersey’s Revel Atlantic City. The event’s main card airs live on FX while preliminary-card fights are expected to air on FUEL TV.
Headlining the event is a key welterweight bout between top lightweight contender Clay Guida (29-12 MMA, 9-6 UFC) and two-time title challenger Gray Maynard (10-1-1 MMA, 8-1-1 UFC).
Also slated for the main card are Sam Stout (17-7-1 MMA, 6-6 UFC) vs. Spencer Fisher (24-8 MMA, 9-7 UFC) III, Brian Ebersole (49-14-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) vs. T.J. Waldburger (15-6 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Ross Pearson (13-5 MMA, 5-2 UFC) vs. Cub Swanson (16-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC).
Ebersole hopes to make it four in a row after a late-career turnaround that’s seen him buck expectations. The longtime veteran and Australian transplant most recently outpointed Patrick by split decision, which built on wins over Chris Lytle and Dennis Hallman. Including bouts on the regional circuit, his win streak extends to 10 bouts over a span of four years.
Ebersole’s opponent, Waldburger, hasn’t been around nearly as long, but he also has momentum on his side. Fighting four times since his octagon debut in September 2010, he’s bested his two most recent opponents, Mike Stumpf and Hecht, by first-round submission. A setback to Hendricks stands as the only blemish on his UFC resume.
